Iglesia de Santa Maria la Mayor

Iglesia de Santa Maria la Mayor is Ronda's main historic church. It was built after the Reconquista on the site of the town's principal mosque, with construction running from the late 15th century into the 17th century.

The building mixes Gothic, Baroque, and Rococo elements, and a few traces of the former mosque survive around the old mihrab area. It is one of the strongest stops in Ronda's old town, especially when paired with the nearby palaces, gates, and gorge viewpoints.
