Casa de la Julianeta

The Casa de la Julianeta is the most photographed building in Albarracín — a tall, narrow medieval house with timbered upper storeys that lean improbably out over the cobbled lane, painted in the town's characteristic rose-pink stucco. It sits on a corner of the Calle de la Catedral and has appeared on more Spanish tourist posters than most national monuments.

The building is privately owned and not open to the public, but the small square in front of it is the best spot in the upper town for a coffee and for watching tour groups stop, gasp, and photograph. The leaning timber construction is genuine and structural, not decorative.
