Veranes Roman Villa sits in the countryside southwest of Gijon, near the old Roman route through Cenero. The site preserves the layout of a late Roman rural estate, with baths, living rooms, mosaic fragments, and later Christian and medieval layers that show how the place kept being reused.
It is a better stop for travellers with a car or a deep interest in archaeology than for anyone rushing through the city centre. The reward is quiet: a short interpreted walk through stone foundations and rural views that connect Gijon's coastal Roman baths with the farms and estates that supported the Roman north.
