Agaete's pleasures are outdoor and local: a dramatic rocky harbour, the ruins of an ancient Guanche burial ground, a sea stack that appears in every postcard of the north coast, and the green Valle de Agaete climbing into the mountains behind town. The annual La Rama festival in late August is one of the most important in the Canary Islands.
