The Stratified City, also called Los Roferos or Antigua Rofera de Teseguite, is a compact field of eroded volcanic tuff near Teguise. Wind and weather have carved the soft rock into ridges, holes, and layered walls, giving the place the look of a miniature abandoned city.
It is easy to visit by car and does not need much time, but it is more interesting than a roadside curiosity if you look closely at the textures and colours. Come in softer light for photographs, avoid climbing on fragile formations, and remember that this is an exposed volcanic landscape with little shade.
