Taberna Jovellanos

A neighbourhood taberna in the new town doing honest Castilian food at reasonable prices — the sort of place locals eat rather than tourists. The menú del día (around €12) typically includes a starter, main, bread, wine or water, and dessert. Zarajos and morcilla de arroz (rice blood sausage) feature regularly. No-frills, cash preferred, busy at lunch. An antidote to the overpriced old-city restaurants.
