The Fundació Joan Miró sits on Montjuïc hill in a luminous white building designed by Josep Lluís Sert, a close friend of the artist. The permanent collection spans Miró's full career -- paintings, sculptures, tapestries, and graphic work -- donated largely by Miró himself.
Beyond the permanent holdings, the foundation hosts strong temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The rooftop terrace has sculptures and good views over the city. You can reach it by cable car from Paral-lel or walk up through the park.
