Blanes is 70 kilometres north of Barcelona, about an hour by road. By train, take a Rodalies line R1 service from Barcelona Sants or Passeig de Gràcia to Blanes — services run roughly every 30 minutes and the journey takes around 75 minutes. The train station is about one kilometre from the seafront.
By car, take the AP-7 autopista north from Barcelona and exit at Blanes. In summer the coast road can be slow; the autopista is faster. There is a summer catamaran service connecting Blanes with Lloret de Mar, Tossa de Mar, and other Costa Brava ports, which is a pleasant way to move along the coast without a car.
