Blanes has a compact set of genuine attractions: a fine botanical garden, a medieval castle ruin, a working harbour, and beaches that get quieter the further you walk from the town centre. It is also the southern terminus of the Costa Brava's coastal hiking path (the GR-92), making it a logical starting point for walking north through increasingly dramatic scenery.
