Roses sits within easy striking distance of two of the most famous places in northern Catalonia — the white-walled village of Cadaqués around the headland to the east, and the Dalí-soaked town of Figueres a short drive inland. Either makes an easy half-day or day trip; combining the two in a single day is feasible if you start early.
