Roses' kitchen runs on the catch from its own fishing fleet — Roses prawns, monkfish, anchovies, and the local stew suquet de peix are the things to order. The fishing-port side of town has the most serious restaurants; the promenade is mainly tourist-grade pizza and paella, with a few honourable exceptions.
