A small, smartly run modern restaurant a couple of streets back from the harbour, Rom does ambitious cooking at a fraction of Els Brancs' prices. The format is a short tasting menu with optional wine pairings, leaning into seafood and seasonal vegetables from the Empordà .
The space is bright and the staff genuinely interested in talking through the dishes. Lunch is cheaper than dinner and a good way in. Book a day or two ahead in summer.
