Salou's nightlife caters heavily to the package-holiday crowd, with British and Irish pubs, karaoke bars, and late-night discos concentrated around Murillo and Carles Buigas streets -- the area locals call "the Slammers." If that is not your scene, the pavement terraces along the promenades offer a calmer alternative, and the port area is pleasant for an evening stroll with fishermen's folk songs sometimes playing in the background.
The Rose and Crown
A popular British-style bar on Carrer Major Catalunya. Bingo and quiz nights run from May through the summer, and the bar stays open late with live music. Opening times are 12pm to 2am.
Gabbers
The oldest pub in Salou, and family-friendly in the early evening with a live DJ. Once the DJ finishes, the disco starts. Also serves a full English breakfast for the homesick.
Murphy's
A traditional Irish bar with satellite sports on screen. One of the few places in Salou where you can get a proper pint of Guinness.
Knabbel and Babblel
Known for its unusual name and its drinking card system -- buy a 20-token card for discounts on each drink. Live music nightly in high season.
Cafes
For a quieter drink in the sun, try Cafe Claq, Crema, Kalea, or El Pou -- all open-air cafes spread around the town centre.
