Camí de Ronda to Tossa de Mar

The most famous walk of the Costa Brava, the Camí de Ronda runs along the cliffs from Sant Feliu south to Tossa de Mar — twelve kilometres of pine forest, secluded coves (Cala Pola, Cala Bona, Cala Salions), and Mediterranean views. The path is well-marked, undulating, occasionally steep, and overall takes a day at a relaxed pace with breaks for swimming.

There is a regular bus back from Tossa de Mar (line 21, around 30 minutes), so most walkers do the route one-way south. Take plenty of water and a swimming costume — every other turn opens onto a swimmable cove and resisting them is pointless.

A story
The Camí de Ronda was originally a customs path used by the Guardia Civil to patrol the coast for smugglers in the 19th century — every cove had to be checked, so the path zigzags into and out of every inlet rather than cutting across the headlands. Today it is one of the best long coastal walks in the western Mediterranean.
