Cabo Home and Playa de Melide

Cabo Home is the southwestern tip of the Morrazo peninsula, a dramatic headland with two lighthouses and views straight out to the Cíes Islands. The beach of Melide sits below the cape between the lighthouses, in a sheltered bay with turquoise water and a long arc of fine sand. On calm days it looks more Caribbean than Galician.

The drive to Cabo Home is one of the best on the peninsula, winding through eucalyptus and pine scrub to the cliffs. The area is popular for walking: the coastal path connects Melide with Barra and Nerga along the clifftop, with sea views throughout. In summer, boat trips from Cangas ferry visitors directly to Melide.
