O Grove's peninsula has beaches on both sides — sheltered ones inside the ría (warmer, calmer, family-friendly) and exposed Atlantic ones on the south-west (cooler, more dramatic, much windier). The most famous Atlantic beach, A Lanzada, is just outside the municipality on the isthmus connecting the peninsula to the mainland.
