The Salnés is the heart of the Rías Baixas wine denomination, and the best way to understand it is to spend a day or two on the official Ruta do Viño Albariño. About thirty bodegas across the comarca welcome visitors — some are large modern operations, some are family farms with vines trained on the traditional granite pergolas and a tasting room set up in the courtyard. Most require booking a few days in advance; some take walk-ins.
Standout names to look up: Pazo de Señoráns (Vilanoviña), Bodega Granbazán (Vilariño), Martín Códax (Cambados), Lagar de Fornelos (As Neves), and the small family estates around Meaño. The Festa do Albariño in Cambados, on the first weekend of August, is the moment to be in the comarca — every grower opens for tastings, the streets fill with stalls, and the whole town smells of grilled sardines and white wine.
