The roofless ruins of the Santo Domingo convent are among the most striking sights in Pontevedra. Founded at the end of the 13th century by the Friars Preachers, the church was largely demolished but its five Gothic apses and surrounding walls still stand, now administered by the Museo de Pontevedra. Inside, you'll find a collection of carved coats of arms, medieval tombs, Roman steles, and Romanesque fragments gathered from churches across Galicia. It's considered the finest example of Gothic architecture in the region.
