Eating around the Ría de Vigo means eating seafood. The ría's waters produce some of the finest shellfish in Europe — mussels, oysters, barnacles (percebes), clams, and spider crabs. In Vigo, the Casco Vello has concentrations of good tapas bars; the stone oyster-sellers' stalls near the harbour have been a fixture for generations. For the best value and freshest produce, head to Arcade at the head of the ría, where the growers themselves run the restaurants.
