Agost is a small inland town just outside Alicante, but it has one clear identity: ceramics. For centuries its clay, kilns, and workshops supplied everyday pottery, and the town still feels more local than the busy Costa Blanca coast.
The Agost Pottery Museum is the useful anchor, set in a former factory with tools, kilns, and domestic wares. Around it, Carrer de l'Alfareria and the Hermitage of Santa Justa and Rufina keep the pottery story in the streets rather than only behind glass.
Agost is not a grand day out like Alicante or Elche. It is worth adding if you are nearby and interested in craft towns, local industry, and the quieter inland edge of the Costa Blanca.
