Every Tuesday morning a street market runs along Carrer de la Filarmónica and spreads into the adjoining streets near the lower town. It's a working market rather than a tourist trap — the stalls sell fresh fruit, vegetables, herbs, cheeses, cured meats, and flowers alongside clothing, household goods, and handmade jewellery.
The market runs from around 8am until 2pm and draws vendors from across the region. It's a good place to pick up picnic supplies for a beach day, and the mix of local shoppers and visitors gives it a lively, genuinely Spanish atmosphere. If you're in Altea on a Tuesday, don't miss it.
