The terrace bars around Plaza de la Iglesia in the old quarter are the most atmospheric places for a drink, especially in the evening when the craft stalls pack up and the square empties of day-trippers. The seafront promenade has a strip of chiringuitos (beach bars) that serve cold beer and cocktails through summer.
In the new town, several wine bars have opened in recent years to serve the growing community of northern European residents and the visitors they attract.
