Restaurante Racó del Pla

Traditional Valencian rice dishes in the old town

One of the best places in Altea for traditional Valencian rice cooking. Racó del Pla is tucked into the old quarter and serves arròs a banda, fideuà, and the occasional all-i-pebre (eel and potato stew with garlic and paprika). The menu leans heavily on what is fresh that day, which keeps quality consistently high.

The dining room is small, the decor unfussy, and the prices reasonable for what you get. Booking ahead on summer weekends is advisable — word has spread among the coastal crowd, and the ten or so tables fill early.
