Beaches

Calpe has two main beaches flanking the Penon de Ifac. The Playa de la Fosa (also called Playa Levante) runs north of the rock along a long arc of sand, sheltered and calm, with good facilities including sunbeds, showers, and a row of beach bars. The Playa del Arenal-Bol is the bigger, busier beach to the south, facing west and catching the afternoon sun.

Both beaches are clean and well-organised, but they fill quickly in July and August. Earlier in the season — May, June, or September — you can have long stretches to yourself. The water is clear Mediterranean, warm from June onwards.
