The waterfront and the streets around Stortorget have a good spread of cafes and bars. Swedish fika culture is strong here — the mid-morning or mid-afternoon coffee-and-pastry pause is taken seriously, and several bakery-cafes near the square do it well. In the evenings the bars are busy with a young crowd, partly because Helsingborg has a large university population.
