Linköping is on the main railway line between Stockholm and Malmö, with frequent trains from Stockholm Central taking about 90 minutes on the fast InterCity services. From Gothenburg, change at Mjölby or travel via Stockholm. The X2000 high-speed trains stop at Linköping Central Station, which is a short walk from the city centre.
By road, the E4 motorway runs through Linköping, connecting it to Stockholm (200 km north) and Malmö (370 km south). Linköping has a small commercial airport with domestic flights; most international travellers use Stockholm Arlanda or Stockholm Skavsta.
