Getting There

Luleå Airport (LLA) is located about six kilometres south of the city centre and has direct flights to Stockholm (Arlanda) several times daily, with the flight taking about 90 minutes. There are also connections to Gothenburg. The airport is compact and easy to navigate.

By train, Luleå is served by the Main Line Through Upper Norrland (Norrlandskusten/UKEN). The overnight sleeper train from Stockholm takes approximately 14 hours and is a civilised way to arrive — you board in the evening and wake up in the north. The train station is in the centre of town. By car, the E4 highway runs through Luleå, connecting south to Stockholm (about 1,100 km) and north to Haparanda on the Finnish border.
