Malmo's grand main square was once the largest marketplace in Scandinavia. It is still an impressive space, anchored by the equestrian statue of King Karl X Gustaf and flanked by the Renaissance Town Hall, the ornate Kockska Huset, and Hotel Kramer in its French chateau style. The square is at its liveliest during the Christmas market in December.
