The city centre is compact and easily navigated on foot. The walk from the train station to the Industrilandskapet takes about 10 minutes; from the mills to the Bronze Age rock carvings at Himmelstalund takes around 30 minutes along the river.
Norrköping has a good tram network — one of the few remaining tram systems in Sweden — which connects the city centre to the suburbs and the main university buildings. Day tickets are valid on all city buses and trams. Cycling is practical; the city has marked routes along the river and through the mill district, and bikes can be hired near the station.
For Kolmården Zoo, there are regular buses from the main bus station (trip time approximately 50 minutes). A taxi takes about 35 minutes.
