Stenshuvud National Park

Stenshuvud is a small but striking national park just north of Kivik — a 97-metre headland rising abruptly above the Baltic coast. The summit gives one of the best views in Skåne, with the sea on three sides and the orchards and apple farms of the Kivik area spread out behind.

A network of marked trails climbs the headland from the visitor centre at Kivik. The shortest route to the top is about 30 minutes; longer loops descend to small cove beaches and pass the remains of a 5th-century hillfort. The park protects a patch of unusually warm-climate vegetation — including hazel, lime, and small-leaved elm — that survives because of the south-facing slope and the warm-water current offshore.
