Vemdalen is most easily reached by car along Route 45 through central Sweden, roughly six hours from Stockholm and three and a half from Östersund. Coach services run from Stockholm during ski season on weekends, operated by companies including GoByBus and Swebus — the journey takes around eight hours. The nearest train station with regular services is at Sveg, about 70 km to the south; from there a taxi or hired car is needed for the final stretch. Flying to Östersund (Frösön Airport) and renting a car is often the fastest option from further afield.
