Vemdalsskalet is the main alpine skiing area in the Vemdalen cluster, with runs ranging from wide, beginner-friendly slopes to steeper descents for more experienced skiers. The resort is part of the SkiStar group and is connected by ski bus to the other resorts in the area — Björnrike and Storhogna — making it possible to ski across the whole system in a day.
The season typically runs from late November to April, with reliable snow thanks to the high elevation and northerly latitude. Facilities include ski rental, ski school, and a selection of mountain cafés. The resort has a notably family-friendly atmosphere — queues are shorter and the atmosphere more relaxed than at the major Alpine destinations.
