Things to Do

Martigny punches well above its weight for a small Swiss town. The Fondation Pierre Gianadda is one of the finest small art foundations in Europe, with consistently excellent temporary exhibitions alongside a permanent sculpture garden and vintage car collection. Roman ruins sit in the middle of town, and the hilltop château watches over the Rhône bend. For something more unusual, Barryland — the museum dedicated to the Saint Bernard rescue dogs — is a short drive out of town.
