The Bastion is a surviving section of Solothurn's old town fortifications, now used as a public green space and walking route. You can walk along or below the walls, with views toward the Alps in clear weather. The park also contains the Soldatendenkmal, a monument to Swiss soldiers who died while guarding the borders during the world wars.
