Kofmehl is Solothurn's rougher-edged cultural venue, useful when the old town's baroque symmetry starts to feel too tidy. It hosts concerts, club nights, comedy, and other events in a converted industrial complex a short distance from the historic centre.
Check the calendar before going; without an event, it is not a sightseeing destination. With the right booking, though, it shows a contemporary Solothurn that is louder and younger than the cathedral-and-clock version most visitors see first.
