Bahchisaray's restaurants serve Crimean Tatar cuisine — distinct from Russian and from Ukrainian, with strong Ottoman, Persian, and Central Asian influences. Look out for chebureki (fried dough pockets stuffed with minced lamb), yantyq (similar, but dry-fried), lagman (hand-pulled noodles in a thick lamb broth), and the rich pilaf-like dishes that are central to a Crimean Tatar feast.
Most of the cafés and small restaurants are along Rechnaya Street, running between the Khan's Palace and the bus station. Several family-run places near the palace gates serve hearty meals at very modest prices. The local coffee culture is Turkish-style — strong, sweet, and often accompanied by Crimean Tatar pastries.
