Sudak sits at the centre of a long bay with several distinct beaches. The main Sudak beach stretches west from the Genoese Fortress headland — a long pebble beach with clear water and the fortress visible at one end. It's busy in summer but a genuinely good swimming beach with warm, clean water from June through September.
Novy Svet, 7 kilometres west, has three smaller coves — Green Bay (Zelena Bukhta), Blue Bay (Sinaya Bukhta), and Thieves' Bay (Razboinichnaya Bukhta) — accessible by the Golitsyn Trail along the cliffs. These beaches are smaller, more beautiful, and less crowded than the main Sudak beach. The water is exceptionally clear.
Cape Alchak at the eastern end of Sudak Bay has several small coves accessible by the nature reserve trail. The swimming is excellent here, with rocky reefs visible through clear water.
