The restaurant attached to the Donbass Palace — the city's first five-star hotel — was the place for a formal dinner or a business lunch with a client who expected to be impressed. The menu ran to European and Russian-international cuisine, the wine list was the best in the city, and the service was polished by local standards. Expensive by Donetsk standards, but not by Western ones. The hotel itself occupied a prominent position on Artyoma Street.
