Shevchenko Park is Ivano-Frankivsk's main green retreat, stretching near the city lake with paths, trees, amusements and places to sit. It gives the city a softer edge after the compact streets and squares of the centre.
The park is best folded into a walk to the lake rather than treated as a separate expedition. In warm weather it becomes a local promenade, good for watching the city slow down in the evening.
