Things to Do

Worksop punches well above its modest size when it comes to things worth seeing nearby. The National Trust owns two of the most compelling attractions: Clumber Park, a vast estate with a lake, ancient woodland, and a startlingly beautiful Gothic Revival chapel; and Mr Straw's House, a time-capsule semi-detached that stands as one of the most intimate portraits of provincial English life you are likely to find anywhere.

In the town centre, the Priory Church of Our Lady rewards a closer look. Its Norman nave has survived largely intact, and the medieval gatehouse at the entrance to the churchyard is one of the best examples of its type in Nottinghamshire.
