Colchester is well connected by rail from London Liverpool Street — direct trains run frequently and take around 50–60 minutes. The town also has good connections to Ipswich and Norwich. By road, the A12 links Colchester to London and the A120 runs east toward Harwich. The nearest airports are Stansted (about 30 minutes by car) and London City.
