A long-running vegetarian café tucked in a courtyard off the main square. Soups, dahls, frittatas, properly made cakes, fair-trade coffee. Functional rather than glamorous, and rarely has an empty seat at lunchtime.
There's also an attached bike hire and repair shop, useful if you fancy the Keswick-Threlkeld railway path on two wheels.
