Things to Do

Burnley's industrial past makes for some genuinely interesting heritage tourism: Towneley Hall is a beautiful country house with art collection, and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal runs through the town with the remarkable Burnley Embankment — once called the "straight mile" — crossing it. The Singing Ringing Tree, a wind-powered sound sculpture on the moors above Crown Point, is the most photogenic thing in the area.
