La Trompette is one of the best restaurants in west London and has been for many years — a sibling to Chez Bruce in Wandsworth and The Square in Mayfair. The cooking is modern European with strong French roots, the wine list is exceptional, and the service is professional without being stiff.
The restaurant is in a Georgian building on Devonshire Road, a few minutes from Turnham Green tube station. Booking is essential, especially at weekends. The prix fixe lunch is better value than the à la carte dinner and gives you the same quality of cooking. This is genuinely one of London's good restaurants — not a local option when nothing better is available, but a destination in its own right.
