Chiswick rewards a leisurely half-day: Chiswick House and its gardens in the morning, then down to the Thames towpath and the riverside pubs in the afternoon. Hogarth's House fits easily into a morning itinerary. The High Road and Turnham Green Terrace are good for browsing and lunch if you want something more urban.
