Maidstone has two railway stations: Maidstone East (for London Victoria, about 65 minutes) and Maidstone West (for London Charing Cross via Tonbridge, about 75 minutes). By road, the M20 runs through the town connecting to the M25 and the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone. National Express coaches stop here on routes between London and the Kent coast.
