Getting There

Bristol is easy to reach. Fast trains from London Paddington take under an hour and forty minutes; Cardiff is under an hour away. The airport, on the Mendip plateau south of the city, handles mostly European budget flights — an airport flyer bus runs to the centre in about 30 minutes.

By plane — Bristol Airport (BRS), about 8 miles south of the city, serves destinations across Europe.

By train — Temple Meads is the main station and nearest to the city centre; Bristol Parkway, on the northern ring road, is handy for intercity services bypassing the centre.

By coach — National Express runs from London Victoria in around three hours, and Megabus is often cheaper.
