The big chains cluster at Cabot Circus and Broadmead in the centre. More interesting is Gloucester Road, the longest stretch of independent shops in the country, and Clifton Village, where bookshops, delis and vintage clothing sit alongside the cafes. St Nicholas Market in the old city is good for street food and quirky traders; Stokes Croft and St Paul's have record shops, zine stores and art.
