The Library of Avalon is a small specialist lending library tucked into the courtyard of the Glastonbury Experience, just off the High Street. Its collection covers every kind of esoteric and occult literature: Western mystery traditions, Celtic mythology, alchemy, tarot, astrology, Gnostic gospels, druid texts, witchcraft, channelled writings. There is nothing quite like it elsewhere in Britain.
Drop in and browse for free. A small donation buys an annual borrower's card if you want to take a book home, and longer-term seekers can sit and read in the converted upstairs room. Volunteer-run; hours are limited and posted on the door. A pleasingly Glastonbury sort of institution — earnest, eclectic, and almost entirely self-sustaining.
