Minehead Harbour

The small stone harbour at the west end of town is what's left of Minehead's working past. In the 18th and 19th centuries it ran coastal trade with Wales and Ireland in coal, salt, herring, and wool; today a handful of small fishing boats and pleasure craft sit on the mud at low tide, and the lifeboat station sits at the end of the pier.

It is the prettiest corner of Minehead and the most atmospheric place to be at high tide, especially in the evening when the water comes back across the flats and lights come on along Quay Street.
